The Harborough District Community Support Hub helps residents and families across the district, providing them with essential support.
There are over 60 voluntary support groups supporting the district ranging from dog walking, food collection and delivery, picking up prescriptions, befriending and support for rural workers.
People who are vulnerable and do not have a local support network can contact Harborough District Council / The Community Support Hub, if they:
need supplies of food and essentials
are feeling lonely or would like a friendly phone call or text message
would like to connect with a local community group
need transport to medical appointments
would like advice about staying active and exercising
HDC are working closely with Voluntary Action South Leicestershire and Voluntary Action Leicester and Leicestershire and want to reassure all residents that the necessary support is in place for when it is most needed. Both organisations have had an overwhelming response to their volunteer recruitment drive with volunteers ready to support existing groups as and when they need it.
To refer yourself, or someone you are concerned about, residents should fill in the online form at www.harborough.gov.uk/hd-community-hub If residents have internet access please use the online form. If you cannot use the online form you should email communityhub@harborough.gov.uk or call 01858 821 232 from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
