A budget is agreed at the December meeting each year to cover the predicted expenditure in the next financial year.

Precept
The precept is part of the budget and is the amount of money the parish council asks Harborough District Council to raise from residents as Council Tax. It is used to fund all the activities the parish council undertakes for the benefit of the community and is agreed at the January meeting each year. The precept may be less than the budget if the parish council uses funds from reserves to offset the difference.
