Christmas Tree Festival

The Burton Overy Christmas Tree Festival was first held in 2000 and was the first in the county. It has been held each year since then and continues to raise a significant amount each year for the Church, Village Hall and Nominated Charity.

"Why is the Burton Overy Christmas Tree Festival always such a success?'' is the frequently asked question locally, around the beginning of December. Many visitors to the Festival (Often more than 2,000), tell us they look forward to it as the start of Christmas – and every year many of them go away saying yet again: "It's the best yet!'' Why? Because it is a truly village event, with pretty well everyone in the village making a contribution – whether it is baking a cake, helping to sell raffle tickets, collecting admission fees, clearing tables in the Village Hall, or lighting up a tree in their own garden or window – there's a job for everyone!.

The organising committee put a huge amount of time into planning the festival in detail – and they are immensely grateful for all the willing help they are able to recruit. They aim to keep its traditional flavour, plus including some fresh new ideas to keep it exciting and attractive to visitors.

We are excited to tell you that we are, once again, holding our annual Christmas Tree Festival in 2023 on Friday the 1st and Saturday 2nd December from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday 3rd December from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Festival is a fun event for people of all ages. We look forward to seeing you.

More details will follow in the coming weeks on the Christmas Tree Festival, plus stall and raffle prize details.
