Parish Council Meeting

The monthly meeting of the parish council will take place next week on Thursday 14th October.

The general business of the council will commence at 7.30pm but at 8.30pm the parish council will be specifically considering its response to the planning application proposing the development of 5 holiday lodges on land off Carlton Lane (cut and paste the link below for further details of the proposal):-

WhatsApp Groups - Proposed Changes

At the start of the Covid pandemic the Parish Council set up two WhatsApp chat groups namely the BOPC Info & Social Group and the BOPC Support & Help Group. Over the last 18 months these groups have served the village well. Wildflower Verge Maintenance

Wildflower Verge Maintenance

We are planning to strim and rake our Wildflower verges marked with the blue hearts near the junction of Back Lane with Main Street on Sunday the 12th of September. If you could help please come with your strimmer and rake at 10.30am.

Wildflower Verge Survey Report Published

The parish council, working in partnership with Leicestershire County Council, has designated the grass verges on Back Lane near its junction with Main Street as Wildflower Verges.

These verges will be subject to a reduced annual maintenance regime so as to promote increased biodiversity.

The Rutland Round Challenge

The Rutland Round is a walk around the county boundary of Rutland and is 65 miles in length. (This is not the same as the circumference of Rutland Water which is much shorter). The walk will be arranged in 5 separate groups of walkers each starting at a different point on the circumference and each walking approximately 13 miles during the day, to join the entire round together.
