Litter

There are no litter bins in Burton Overy and it is appreciated that our visitors take any litter home for disposal.

Harborough district council clean streets four times a year and the cleaning schedule for all Harborough villages is given below.

If there are specific problems with a street that needs cleaning, for example fly-tipping, dead animals in a publicly accessible place, littering etc please report it to Harborough District Council on the on-line form provided.

Dog Waste Bins

There are three dog waste bins in the village. One is situated close to the Book Exchange, Main Street, one close to the Village Hall, Rectory End and a third on Town Street. As dog waste goes to landfill, it can also be put in the household black bin.

Dog faeces can cause serious diseases to farm animals, other dogs and wildlife and the eggs of worms and parasites can survive on the ground for a long time, some for up to three years. Please bag it wherever you are.
